Mt Martha Farmers’ Market is a low-waste market held on the first Saturday of the month from 8:30am - 12:30pm.
This is complemented by a smaller Community Twilight Market on the third Friday of the month from 3:00pm – 7:00pm around the grounds of historic Mt Martha House.
Both markets are delivered by environmental not-for-profit Sustainable Table and feature Mornington Peninsula and Victorian producers. These markets serve the local and visitor population by providing them with a place to shop for local, seasonal, zero-waste and delicious produce direct from the people who grow and make it.
A feature of this market is Sustainable Table’s commitment to zero-waste which has eliminated all single-use items from the market site. The market successfully operates without any bins, other than compost, and has a Washed up. Not wasted. station for shoppers to wash and return cups, cutlery and crockery supplied. Sustainable Table is also working with producers to transition away from single-use packaging where possible.
