Nillumbik Estate is a family owned and operated boutique winery and cellar door in Smiths Gully. The cellar door is open Friday, Saturday and Sunday and features a large deck that offers breathtaking views of the Kinglake Ranges.
Winemaker John Tregambe uses traditional hand-crafted winemaking techniques stretching back generations. The son of Italian immigrants who arrived in Australia in the 1950’s, John’s interest in winemaking was sparked when watching his father practice age-old winemaking techniques in the family home.
Nillumbik Estate’s range of rustic gourmet pizzas and platters have been crafted to perfectly match their wine styles and are made from local produce, some of which is grown on-site.
The knowledgeable team will help you decide which wine to enjoy with your delicious fare.
John holds Masterclasses providing visitors with an insight into his winemaking and viticulture styles as well as the history of Nillumbik Estate and the region. Throughout the year, John also readily delights visitors with barrel tastings of new vintages or a tour of the pristine vineyard.
