South Port Community Festival is a local festival run by South Port Community Housing Group (SPCHG), aiming to engender pride in community housing and bring together all people who call South and Port Melbourne home.
The event is free for all attendees, with live music, performances by locals, including school kids and community housing residents, great food, an art gallery, community stalls, information, workshops and much much more.
Come down to Marshall Street, South Melbourne (behind South Melbourne Town Hall), to join in and be part of the South Melbourne and Port Melbourne Community.
This event is open to everyone and welcomes people of all ages, classes, races, religions, ethnicity, gender. EVERYONE is welcome. Join in celebrating diversity and raising awareness regarding the realities of homelessness.
Special Features
Family Friendly, Public Toilet, Welcomes and assists people who have challenges with learning, communication, understanding and behaviour. (includes people with autism, intellectual disability, Down syndrome, acquired brain injury (ABI), dyslexia and dementia), Caters for people with sufficient mobility to climb a few steps but who would benefit from fixtures to aid balance. (This includes people using walking frames and mobility aids), Caters for people who use a wheelchair., Caters for people with high support needs who travel with a support person.
