Ripe Cafe Sassafras is a well known and loved eatery in the heart of the Dandenong's. A cafe by day, restaurant by night, owned and run by hills locals.
Located in the quaint Sassafras Village, about a 45-minute drive east of Melbourne. The chefs use local, fresh and ethically sourced produce offering an all-day breakfast and lunch menu that includes a veggie love section, with plenty of vegan and gluten-free meals and house-made cakes. As for the coffee, Ripe is pretty passionate about quality, serving a double ristretto for a standard cup. Ripe Cafe Sassafras roaster is Melba Organic, nine-time winners of the golden bean coffee roasting competition. For afternoon tea, enjoy delicious house-made pastries, cakes, biscuits and scones.
